Obituary

Ethelmae "Marie" Jurney Hale, 91, of Urbana passed away on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Amber Glen Alzheimer's Special Care Center, Urbana.

She was born on October 14, 1923 in Newman, the daughter of James and Ann (Alexander" Jurney. She married Clarence F. Hale on April 27, 1947 he preceded her in death in 1991. She was also preceded in by her parents, 5 sisters and 1 brother.

Ethelmae was proud to serve her country during WW II by working in an airplane plant in Michigan as a "Rosie Riveter". She also worked for Crop Improvement Association in Urbana and at the College of General Engineering at U of I until she retired.

Surviving are two daughters Karol Quinn, Springfield and Peggy (Terry R.) Cook, Mahomet. Also surviving are one sister, Rose (Harrold) Gallion, Newman, 6 grandchildren: Kelly (Lyle) Neeman, Marcia Quinn, Dana Quinn, Jim (Beverly) Quinn, Jeff (Jamie) Cook and Shelby (Scott) May, 13 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the Amber Glen "caregivers" and Harbor Light Hospice for their love and care of our mother and grandmother.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 9 at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Ethelmae Hale.
