Emma Lynch aged 79, a long time resident of Urbana passed away Friday May 20, 2011 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana of heart failure. Born May 27, 1931 in Decatur, Illinois Emma was the youngest living daughter of Italian immigrants Dominica Maria and John Rosetto. Sisters Irene, Celia, Minnie and a brother John, preceded her in death. Emma graduated with honors from Steven Decatur High School in 1948. She wed Glenn Eugene (Gene) Lynch May 2, 1954 and was widowed in 1997. Her happiest times were with him. Emma worked at Wiley Elementary School for many years and at Mc Brides Drug Store at Lincoln Square and Race Inn. Emma was an avid gardener her entire life. She enjoyed sharing her knowledge with her children, grand daughters and friends. A loyal Illini fan she was known for never missing a televised game be it football or basketball. Emma along with her late husband shared a love for community service. Serving with many different charitable organizations including the Untied Way, the Lions Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars, as well St Patrick's Catholic Church. Her small stature never hindered her big personality. Her son Stan and daughter in law Susan and daughter Lori, four granddaughters Lindsey Venger, Nichole Isaac, Sara Hall and Courtney Lynch and two great granddaughters Isabella and Sienna Venger, survive Emma. A visitation will be held at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, Saturday, May 28 at 10:30 am, the funeral will follow at 12:00. Father Joseph Hogan will officiate. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign. Emma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be missed.
