CHAMPAIGN, IL- Elta Grace "Nancy" Foster, 100, of Champaign, IL, passed away at 7:55 PM, Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at her residence in Champaign.

Private graveside services will be held Friday, February 18, 2011. A Celebration of Life service will be held in June. Burial will be at Locust Grove Cemetery, Philo, IL. Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Foster was born September 24, 1910, in Urbana, IL, a daughter of Harmon H. and Grace Elta (Edwards) Mitchell. She married George David Foster on June 15, 1932 in Urbana, IL. He preceded her in death on July 9, 1967. Survivors include two daughters, Carole G. Stephenson of Champaign, IL, and Martha Mitchell Foster of Wheeling, IL; three grandchildren, Todd David Stephenson of Camp Point, IL, Wendy Martha Stephenson of Tolono, IL, and Tess Foster Raser of Catania, Italy; two great-grandchildren, Mitchell Lawrence Ridinger of Sidney, IL and Sascha Chase May of Tolono, IL. A special angel in her final years was caregiver, Barbara Linck of Champaign.

Mrs. Foster owned and operated the Cinderella Beauty Shop in Urbana in the 1930's and she was a supervisor for Champaign Unit 4 Schools in Special Education from 1958 until 1975. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Champaign, the Delmar D. Darrah Chapter 1021 O.E.S., the Alliance Chapter D.A.R. and she enjoyed gardening and playing bridge.
