PAXTON, IL- Elsie Evelyn Fowler, 92, of Paxton, IL, passed away at 12:45A.M., June 14, 2010 at the Illinois Knights Templar Home, Paxton.

There will be no public funeral services. Burial will be held at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Loda, IL. Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Fowler was born August 16, 1917 in Hayworth, IL, a daughter of Harrison Morton and Susie (Torry) Myers. She married James Edward Fowler on October 31, 1940 in Paxton, IL. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1976. Survivors include a son, James Edward Fowler, Jr. of Rantoul, IL,; two brothers, Delmar Myers of Gifford, IL, Alden Myers of Albion, IN, and one sister, Marjorie Coffin of Indianapolis, IN. Two grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, Myles, a sister, Dorothy and a son, David.

Mrs. Fowler graduated from Loda High School and was a hairdresser in Loda. She was also a cook at the Arcade Restaurant in Paxton and the University of Illinois in the 1960's and 70's. Mrs. Fowler was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Paxton, and she enjoyed church activities, cake decorating, sewing and cooking.
