Elma H. Boll Franklin 89, of Champaign died 5:50 a.m. Sunday, February 1, 2009, at Carle Arbours in Savoy.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 7 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. Pastor Bob Hassel, officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Mayview. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Franklin was born April 1, 1919 in Twin Falls, Idaho, the daughter of Arthur and Ruth Wales Hollingsworth. She married Herschel L. Boll and he preceded her in death. She later married John L. Franklin and he predeceased her in death. She is also predeceased by three sons; John Boll, Allen Franklin and Douglas Franklin.

She is survived by daughters; Darlene Garland of Washington, North Carolina, Mary Boll of Champaign and Rita Hardyman of Camargo and seven grandchildren.

Mrs. Franklin graduated from Purdue University with a BA in home economics. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Champaign and enjoyed traveling, especially to New Zealand. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Faith Baptist Church Building Fund, 4601 N. Market St., Champaign, 61821 or to Carle Foundation Hospice Program.
