Elizabeth Macedo 69 of Urbana died at 8:00 p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2012 after a 1 year struggle with pancreatic cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2012 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Urbana; Rev. Fr. Joseph Hogan will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Champaign. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.

Mrs. Macedo was born on November 15, 1942 in Luzern, Switzerland, the daughter of Josef and Elisabeth Stirnimann Buchmann. She married Ronald Dominic Macedo on November 21, 1964 in St. Louis, Missouri; he died on March 25, 1999.

Survivors include three daughters; Maria Elizabeth Macedo of Champaign, Indira Therese Dubsky of Naperville and Monica Bernadette Macedo of Champaign, two brothers; Josef Buchmann of Dulliken, Solothurn, Switzerland and Pius Buchmann of Emmenbruecke, Luzern, Switzerland and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Macedo attended college at Berufsschule Luzern (Business School of Luzern, Switzerland) and graduated in May 1962. She immigrated to the United States in May 1962 and she studied and worked at St. Louis University from 1962 - 1964.

She loved her job for 27 years from 1982 - 2009 at Carle Clinic Financial Services as a Financial Services Representative where she was named Employee of the Year in 1989.

Mrs. Macedo was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Urbana. She loved gardening, traveling, aquatic exercise, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
