Elizabeth "Betty" Conerty 97 of Urbana died at 11:12 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2016 at the Country Health Care Nursing Home Gifford.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Urbana, Rev. Fr. Joe Hogan will officiate. Burial will be in Yearsley Cemetery, Urbana. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana is in charge of arrangements.

Betty was born on September 6, 1919 in Sumer Township, the daughter of Oscar and Susie Burnett Marriott. She married James C. Conerty on June 15, 1940 in Urbana; he died on March 7, 1998.

Survivors include three children; Tom and (Carol) Conerty of Casa Grande, Arizona, Beth (Clark) Anderson of Urbana and Michael Conerty of Urbana, nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one daughter; Connie Conerty Difanis, one brother and three sisters.

Betty had worked as a secretary at the Illinois Mining Institute. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Urbana, St. Patrick's Women's Guild, Mayview Home Extension, Champaign County Farm Bureau and the Neighborhood Social Club.

Betty was famous for her baking, especially her cinnamon rolls.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her friends and family whom she loved very much.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Country Health Care for the wonderful care that Betty received.
