URBANA, IL- Eleanor Jane Hornbacker, 69, of Urbana, Illinois, passed away at 10:10 A.M., Sunday, January 29, 2012, at Heartland Health Care Center in Champaign, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 3, 2012, at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL, with Pastor Jim Linder officiating. Burial will be held at Springdale Cemetery in Peoria, Illinois. Visitation will be held on Thursday (Feb. 2) from 4-7 P.M., at the funeral home.

Eleanor was born March 7, 1942 in Peoria, Illinois, a daughter of Gerald Brees and Eleanor Jane Park Hornbacker. She married Robert E. Bohn on September 5, 1965 in Peoria, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2001.

Survivors include two daughters, Erica Jane Bohn of Champaign, IL, and Karen Lynn Compton and husband, Michael of Memphis, TN; 5 grandchildren, Grant, Drew, Emma, Nora and Abigail; a brother, Gerald Park Hornbacker and wife, Valerie of Bartonville, IL and a sister, Shiela Wilson and husband, Jack of Norris, IL also survive.

Eleanor graduated from Peoria Manual High School and Eureka College with a B.A. in Theology. She worked as a Library Operations Associate in the Cataloging Department of the University of Illinois Library, for 35 years. She was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority and she enjoyed reading and sewing.
