Elaine R. Hill, 101, of Urbana died at 10:40 A.M. Thurs, Jan. 25, 2007 at home.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tues., Jan. 30, 2007 at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana; the Rev. Jerry Nichols will officiate. There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Hill was born on April 22, 1905 in Chicago, the daughter of Arthur J. and Pearl L. Rhinesmith Rich, she married William G. Hill on Aug. 12, 1930 in Chicago, and he died in 1953.

Survivors include two sons; John M. Hill of Sun City, AZ and Richard M. Hill of Urbana, two daughters; Barbara J. Hyland of Arlington Heights and Margaret E. (Peggy) Scheurich of Urbana, 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 4 great -great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, one sister, and one great grandchild.

Mrs. Hill retired as a Librarian in the music library at the U of I. She graduated from the Columbia School of Music.

A lifetime member of Mu Phi Epsilon music sorority, she enjoyed music, needlework, crossword puzzles and cats, she also taught piano.
