Eileen R. Peterson, 90, passed away November 26, 2014 at home, with her family by her side, in Urbana.

She was born June 8, 1924 in Effingham County, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Minnie (Thomason) Tucker, along with four brothers and two sisters, Edward Lyle, Ansel, and Kenny, (Tucker), Nadine (Tucker) Adermann, and Erma (Tucker) Harmon, her husband, Harold Peterson, and her eldest daughter, La Donna Jean (Peterson) Embser.

She is survived by five children; Danny Peterson (Linda), Carol Scott, Linda Peterson, Teresa Wain (David), and David Peterson, and a son-in-law (Robert Embser), eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, (Alta Peterson) and many other loving family members.

Eileen was a beloved wife and mother to whom she brought much joy and laughter. She loved socializing, traveling, sewing, and in her later years playing bingo. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her kindness, and her sense of humor.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 South Philo Road, Urbana.
