Edward E. Durbin, 87, of Savoy died at 3:37 PM Friday December 21, 2018 at St. Joseph Hospital,
Bloomington.
Funeral services will be Thursday December 27 at 10:00 AM at Quest: A Community of Grace Church, 2004 S. Philo
Rd., Urbana. Pastor Casey Taylor will officiate. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery with Military
Rites by Urbana American Legion Post 71. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 26 from 5 to 7 PM
with Masonic Rites by Urbana Masonic Lodge No. 157 at 7:00 PM at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana.
Ed was born October 3, 1931 in Mt. Auburn, the son of Leo C. and Vualo (Rickett) Durbin. He married
Pauline Copeland on December 23,, 1951 at the First United Methodist Church in Champaign. He is
survived by his wife, Pauline of Savoy, daughters, Linda Harden (Dwight) of Tolono, Barbara Spittler of
Urbana, Marsha Russell (Gary) of Urbana, Teresa Reifsteck (Rick) of Champaign, Paula Armstrong
(Sidney) of Bloomington, & Christina Johnson (Ron) of Urbana, 11 grandchildren, Amanda Ennis, Cory (Lacie) Douglas, Carley (Marshall) Cresap, Cristin (Craig) Gaines, Brandon Ennis, Nicholas (Abby) Wright, Tyler Wright, Devin Wright, Emilee Reifsteck, Nathan Reifsteck, Elyse Johnson, 9 great grandchildren, brothers, Lloyd Durbin of
Bement and John Durbin of Mahomet. He is preceded in death by a son, Dean Durbin (Lori) and a brother, Clemith Durbin.
Ed attended Monticello High School and Parkland College. He served in the National Guard and was
called up by the Army in 1952. He was supervisor in the housing division at the University of Illinois.
After retirement he was a seasonal driver for United Prairie Agronomics and was a funeral coach driver
for Mid State Mortuary Service and Renner-Wikoff Chapel. He was a member of Quest: A Community of Grace Church in Urbana, a Life member of the Urbana American Legion Post 71 and a member and Past Master of Urbana Masonic Lodge No. 157.
