Edith Wooldridge, 96, of Champaign-Urbana, passed away at 11:40 a.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Heartland Healthcare Center. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is handling arrangements.

Edith was born May 2, 1921 in Bartholomew County, Indiana to parents Frank and Mary (Phillippe) Harker. She married Guy Francis Wooldridge September 2, 1939 in Hope, Indiana. He preceded her in death September 25, 2011. Survivors include two children, Glenda Manning (Jim), of Champaign, John Wooldridge (Karen), of Champaign, one grandson, Matt Wooldridge (Renee), and two great-granddaughters, Makaylee and Makenna, of Frisco, Texas. Edith was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.

After graduating from Urbana High School, Mrs. Wooldridge started her career as a bookkeeper with Champaign County Bank and Trust. By the end of her career, she had worked her way up to Vice President of Champaign County Bank and Trust. She was one of the first females in the Illinois area to achieve such as high position in the banking industry.

Edith was an avid Cubs fan; she enjoyed watching them play and attending their games. She also loved watching her grandson's baseball games and her great-granddaughters' dance recitals.

A graveside service will be held for both Guy and Edith at a later date at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
