Eddie L. Aikman Sr. 69, of Urbana died at 3:23 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2007 at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana.

Mr. Aikman was born on August 9, 1937 in Urbana, the son of Donald E. and Gladys Dorothy Horton Aikman. He married Mary L. Rusher on July 4, 1995 in Urbana, she survives.

Also surviving are six sons; Eddie Aikman Jr of Ogden, Donald Aikman of Urbana, Brett Peacha of Champaign, Brian Peacha of Chicago, John Peacha of Florida and Craig Peacha of Urbana, one sister; Donna Scott of Champaign, seventeen grandchildren and one great grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Aikman was a retired maintenance man for the Urbana School Dist. 116.

He was a member of the Sons of the VFW Post 630 Urbana, Sons of the American Legion Post 24 Champaign, an avid bird watcher, artist, musician and jewelry maker.
