E. Geraldine Marrs, 99, of Urbana, Illinois, passed away at 12:30 PM, Friday, November 23, 2012 at the Champaign County Nursing Home in Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home (9 AM-10AM). Burial will be held at Edgar Cemetery, Paris, Illinois.

Geraldine was born August 1, 1913 in La Rose, Illinois, a daughter of Hayes and Eve (Whitton) North. She married Harold Marrs on June 5, 1940. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2006. Survivors include two sons, Howard F. Marrs of Downey, California and Richard G. Marrs and wife, Cindy of Champaign, IL. 6 grandchildren: Andrew (Victoria) Marrs of Chicago, Lucas (Jennifer) Marrs of Fishers, IN, Rebecca (Bas) Elgharib of Silver Lake, CA, Joel Marrs of Denver, CO, Rachel Marrs of Chicago and Matthew Marrs of Downey, CA; One great grandchild, Ella Grace Marrs, and a sister, Ruth King of Elmhurst, IL.

Geraldine graduated from Toluca High School and received her Master's Degree in Education from the University of Illinois. She taught Home Economics at Homer schools for 30 years. She was a member of the Catlin Church of Christ, D.A.R., Allerton United Methodist Women and the Allerton Womens Club. Geraldine and her husband enjoyed travelling.
