Obituary

Ben Dwight Redding 81 of Urbana died at 12:17 a.m. Friday, November 1, 2013 at home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana; Pastor Dick Coen officiating. Burial will in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Mayview. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Redding was born on July 14, 1932 in Mason, the son of Richard and Anna Kincaid Redding. He married Betty Lou Messick on December 20, 1954 in Frederick, Maryland, she survives.

Also surviving are two sons; Dennis (Michele) Redding of Appleton, Wi, John (Gwenn) Redding of Oostburg, WI, one daughter; Cindy (Darrell Block) Douglas of Tolono, one sister; Hazel Wakefield of Springfield, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers; Richard, Cecil, John, Larry, and sister; Blanche Kester.

Mr. Redding was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was a maintenance supervisor at Busey Bank for many years.

Mr. Redding enjoyed woodworking, gardening, his children and grandchildren.
