Dr. Thomas Eugene "Sunshine" Nagele 93 of Urbana died at 3:02 a.m. Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the Willowbrook Nursing Center, Savoy.

Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2016 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Urbana. Burial will be in Kentland Cemetery, Sheldon. A reception will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Dr. Nagele was born on May 4, 1923 in Sheldon, the son of William Arthur and Margaret Catherine Quinn Nagele. He married Lenore Loess on March 19, 1955 in Brookfield, she survives.

Also surviving are six children; Susan Nagele of Kenya, Africa, Jean Unruh of Elburn, Paul Nagele of Sterling, Virginia, Steve Nagele of Champaign, Carol Vitalis of Taylors Falls, Minnesota and Michael Nagele of Champaign, one sister; Genevra Gooding of Sheldon, fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Dr. Nagele was preceded in death by five brothers.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Dr. Nagele was a dentist.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Urbana and the American Dental Society.

Dr. Nagele loved farming.
