Dorothy A. Rosenboom Werkau 89, of Urbana, formerly of Clifton went to be with the Lord at 12:22 p.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 2200 South Philo Road, Urbana; Rev. Robert Rasmus officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the Clifton Cemetery, Clifton. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Werkau was born on August 26, 1923 in Milford, the daughter of Adam and Ollie Carley.

Survivors include two daughters; Judith (Robert) Rudin of Clifton and Janice (Raymond) Coffin of Mahomet, one brother; Allen (Velma) Carley of Watseka, three grandchildren; Daniel (Kathy) Rudin of Manteno, Jay Salmon of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Kurt (Laura) Salmon of Champaign and five great grandchildren; Alexander, Kelly and Matthew Rudin, Taylor and Hailey Salmon.

She was preceded in death by one brother; Lavern Carley and one grandson; Jeffrey Rudin.

She was the owner/operator of the Orchid Salon in Clifton for many years.

Before moving to Urbana 25 years ago, she was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Clifton playing the organ and participating in many church activities.

She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Urbana always active with the Elderberries and compiling the "Insight".

Mrs. Werkau enjoyed puzzles, computer games, watching TV and visiting with friends and family.
