Dorothy L. McDade 79 of Urbana died at 4:41 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2016 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and crematory, Urbana; Rev. Norman McCormick will officiate. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. McDade was born on February 20, 1937 in Urbana, the daughter of Milton and Janice Rude Melchi. She married Ronald McDade Sr. on July 5, 1956 in Urbana; he died on June 17, 2009.

Survivors include one son; Ronald D. (Melissa) McDade Jr. of Fairmount, one daughter; Nora McKinley of Thomasboro, one brother; Ed Melchi of Fort Meyers, Florida, one sister; Sandy Hammerschmidt of Philo six grandchildren; Charlie Lutz, Katie Russell, Justin McDade, Amber McDade Jensen, Erica Sawyer and Nathen Jenkins, eleven great grandchildren and two special cousins; Patty Farmer and Anda Ohlsson both of Champaign.

She was preceded in death by one daughter; Jeanine Lambie.

Mrs. McDade retired from the University of Illinois in the Ag Services Dept.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Urbana and the Champaign Elks Club.

Mrs. McDade loved the Cubs and enjoyed bowling, bingo and domino's.
