Dorothy C. Douglas, 90 of Urbana, died at 10:41 a.m. Friday, October 22, 2010 at home in Canterbury Ridge, Urbana. Funeral Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, October 25 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Urbana with Father Joseph Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Champaign. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana.

Mrs. Douglas was born January 13, 1920 near Myra Station in south Urbana, the daughter of Charles A. and Gertrude Arie Jacobs. She married Ralph D. Douglas on April 18, 1942 in Urbana. He preceded her in death on November 23, 2001. She is survived by a son; Roy C. Douglas (Becky) of Urbana, grandchildren; Jacob Douglas (Elizabeth), Mark Douglas (Melinda), Andy Smith (Brooke) and Jennifer Smith (Shane Ater), great granddaughter; Delaney Smith. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, daughter, Carol Juvinall, three brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Douglas graduated from the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1941 and practiced nursing at Burnham Hospital, Mercy Hospital, McKinley Hospital, Carle Foundation Hospital, Champaign County Nursing Home and was a private practice nurse. Dorothy was a lifetime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the Ladies Guild at the church, Catholic Daughters of America Court 1070, Champaign County Farm Bureau and the Retired Nurses Association.
