SAVOY, IL.- Doris Lee Trotter, 89, of Savoy, IL, formerly of Peoria, IL, passed away at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL.

There will be no public services. Burial will be held at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia, Illinois at a later date. Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Trotter was born on September 30, 1922, a daughter of Lee H. and Georgia (Phillips) Hunt. She married Romus N. Trotter on September 24, 1955 in Virginia, IL. He preceded her in death on March 9, 2001. Survivors include a daughter, Janet Trotter Gebhart and husband, Dick of Champaign, IL, nieces, a nephew, and many friends in the Peoria, IL area. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Kathryn Morgan.

Mrs. Trotter was a bookkeeper for many years, having worked for Howard Heller, Cusack & Fleming Law Office and she retired from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria, Illinois. She was a member of the Peoria First United Methodist Church and enjoyed gambling, bowling, college basketball, especially the U of I and the Bradley Braves, travelling and dining out. Doris lived in Peoria for 65 years and moved to Savoy in 2008 to be closer to her daughter.
