Donald Lee Smith of Urbana died at 4:05 a.m. Friday (December 14, 2012). Visitation will be on Monday, December 17, 2012, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 South Philo Road, Urbana, IL. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 18th, at the funeral home. Pastor Eungoo Lee will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery.

Don was born December 12, 1937 in Champaign, the son of Homer Beattie and Elizabeth Ann (Wilson) Smith. Don married Joyce V. Anderson on March 14, 1958. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Michael Smith of Oakwood, Illinois, one daughter Valerie Segalla (Johnny) of Little Italy, Arkansas, grandson Zachary Smith of Bismarck, IL, granddaughters Mollie Smith of Bismarck, IL, Lesley Nalley (Scott) of Little Italy, AR, Ashley Carnahan (Chris) of Conway, AR; great-grandchildren Amanda and Kevin Nalley, brother Jim Smith (Doreen) of Broomfield, Colorado, as well as nieces and nephews. His sister Pat Roelfs preceded him in death in September 2012.

Don attended Urbana schools and the University of Illinois. He had a lifelong farming career, and worked for many years at Parkhill Motors and the City of Urbana.
