CHAMPAIGN - Donald Shipley died at the age of 79 on June 7, 2013. He was born February 19, 1934 in Champaign to Alfred and Mamie Bland Shipley. Don married Marion Hascall on June 5, 1954 in Champaign and recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. Don and Marion have one son, Wesley (Lori) Shipley, and 2 grandchildren of Phoenix, AZ. Don was a tank mechanic in the US Army. Don worked for Champaign Schools from 1964 to 1994 as a Facility Maintenance Supervisor. Most recently he had been a driver for Christie Clinic. Don was a member of Masonic Lodge Western Star #240, Ansar Shrine, Springfield, IL, Illinois Shrine Club, and the HiLo Wheelers. Don is survived by his wife Marion, two sisters, Darlene Parish of New York and Caroline Dillman of Champaign. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Dorothy. The memorial service will be Thursday, June 13th at 2:00 p.m. at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. Full Masonic rites will be accorded. In lieu of flowers donations in Don's memory can be sent to the Shriner's Children Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
