Diana Lynn Slade-Simmons, 63, of Farmer City, formerly of Urbana, died at 3:20 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013 at home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 27 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana with visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana. Diana was born October 5, 1949 in Urbana. She was raised by her father, Harley R. Slade. She is survived by her spouse, Denny Simmons of Farmer City, daughter, Sherry L. Bolton-Perry of Urbana, special daughters, Deanna Douglas and Dolly Smith, grandchildren, Michael L. Perry, Jr. (Katie), Amanda, Niki, Gill, Ashton, Katie, Hastings and Clay, great grandchildren, Taran, Logan and Mariah, brothers, Richard A. Slade (Cindy) of Mahomet, Dennis E. Slade (Deb) of Paxton, Neville D'arcy of Louisiana and Kevin D'arcy of Texas, sisters, Debbie Gillum of Missouri and Deborah Dodson of North Carolina. She is preceded in death by two sons and her mother and father.
Diana attended Urbana Schools and retired from Red Lobster after 17 years as a hostess. She enjoyed flowers especially roses, collected Native American items as that was her heritage. She loved her second family at Red Lobster, watched her cartoons every Saturday and loved traveling and fishing. She was an avid NASCAR fan, especially Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
Memorials may be made to the Bolton-Perry family in care of Carle Employee Credit Union, Urbana.
