Dessel Eileen Gravely, 83, of Urbana passed away at 11:25 a.m., Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Carle Foundation Hospital. A visitation will be held Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. Pastor Christopher Smithey will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 24th at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Urbana. Mrs. Gravely was born April 7, 1930 in Lane, Illinois to parents Furman and Evelyn (Young) Arthur. She married George E. Gravely January 30, 1949 in Beckley, West Virginia; he survives.

Also surviving are children; Linda Reid (Pat), Robert Gravely, David Gravely, all of Urbana, eight siblings, eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Dessel was preceded in death by her parents, one grandchild, and three siblings.

Mrs. Gravely worked for more than 20 years at the Champaign County Nursing Home as a nurse. She was a member of the Curtis Road Church of God in Champaign.
