Dennis Franklin Strode, 58, of Urbana passed away at 9:45 a.m., Friday, June 28, 2013 at his home. A visitation will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd. Urbana. A funeral service will be held the following day, July 3rd at 10:00 a.m., at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 2200 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. Pastor Robert Rasmus will officiate. Burial will be held in Kopmann Cemetery, rural St. Joseph.

Mr. Strode was born June 4, 1955 in Champaign, Illinois to parents Douglas and Grace (Stein) Strode. They survive. Also surviving are children, Angela and Steven Strode (Lynette), of Champaign, siblings, Douglas Francis Strode, Jr. (Vicki), of Jacksonville, Florida, Diane Young Carter (Henry), of Nashville, Tennessee, Desi Edward Strode (Dianne), of Champaign, Denise Gregory, of Nashville, Tennessee, aunt, Mary Sandwell (Ted), of Urbana, grandchildren, Cira Utley, Cassidy Strode, Nolan Strode, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, his soul mate Carla Flessner who he was married to for 17 years, his long time sweetheart Terri Hamerick and the mother of his children Debbie Cox. Dennis was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Ava Harmon, maternal and paternal grandparents, and his special Unkie.

Mr. Strode was a painter at K & R Painting. He was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed riding Harley's and had a love for country music.
