Dennis "Denny" Roy Bing, 86, passed away at 5:50 PM Tuesday March 31 at Carle Hospital in Urbana Illinois. He was born July 1, 1928 to the late Goodney and Herman O. Bing in Duluth Minnesota. He married the love of his life Martha L. Bing in Dec 21, 1951. He served in the Korean War and was a flight instructor at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul during that time. He served as Champaign County Clerk from 1970 to 1994 as an elected public official for the Republican party.

He is survived by his wife: Martha L. Bing, 3 children: Dennis R. Bing Jr., Sandy A. Bailey and Tammy J. Brown and sons in law Robin Bailey and Ralph Brown Jr. He was very proud of his extensive family including 12 grandchildren: Annie Bing, Dennis R. Bing III (children of Dennis Jr.), Robin Bailey II, Jennifer Clegg, Derek Bailey and Cassidy Bailey (children of Sandy Bailey) and Michelle Masters, Heather Masters, Ralph Brown III, Justin Brown, Sebastian Brown and Zechariah Brown (children of Tammy Brown). He was blessed with two great grandchildren: Lily Bing and Henrik Clegg.

He and his wife Martha were devoted Christians and active members of Calvary Baptist Church of Urbana since October 7th 1984. He was avid swimmer and loved to discuss politics with his friends at morning coffee at the Senior Center in Champaign Il.

Visitation will be a Renner Wikoff Funeral Home, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana Friday, April 3rd from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 2106 E. Windsor Rd. , Urbana at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 4th. Burial will be held at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Mayview.
