Obituary

GIFFORD, IL- Delight Beulah Freeman, 99, of Ogden, died at 1:30 P.M., Saturday, September 27, 2008 at Country Health Nursing Home in Gifford.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL. Pastor Helen Murrell will officiate. Burial will be held at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign, IL. Visitation will be held one hour prior to funeral services at the funeral home.

Mrs. Freeman was born February 8, 1909 at Moweaqua, IL, a daughter of Amos and Essie Carroll Burgener. She married Tillford James Freeman on March 31, 1928 at Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death on December 16, 1973. Survivors include a daughter, Glenna J. Hewkin, and husband, George of rural Ogden, IL, a daughter-in-law, Pat Freeman of Troy, Ohio; 3 Grandchildren: Vicki Arnold and husband, Richard, Joann Brown and husband, Dan, and Carrie Cookson and fiancAC.e, Rich Cofner. Several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, James Lee, 3 brothers and and 4 sisters.

Mrs. Freeman graduated from Assumption High School and worked for Mercy Hospital, Urbana, for 34 years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Assumption and attended First Baptist Church in Urbana. She loved to play Bingo and was an avid University of Illinois basketball fan.
