Obituary

Deborah J. Eddy, 61, of Mahomet, left this earth on April 26, 2015, while holding the hand of her granddaughter, surrounded by family and friends.

Deb was born February 6, 1954, the daughter of Donald and Wilma Ellis. She was the sister of Dave Ellis (FL) and Mike Ellis (Ohio). Her parents and brother Dave preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter, Jessica (Mark) of St. Joseph, her son Keith of Las Vegas, NV, her boyfriend Joseph Zerfrowski, her best friend Leslie Stephen and her granddaughters Kayla (17) and Averie (5), whom she had the most special relationship with. These two girls held a very special place in grandma's life and vise versa.

Deb was a very loyal employee. She worked for Carle Hospital/Clinic for 41 years. Starting as a LPN and ending as the RN Coordinator of Neurology. She and Dr. Cranston worked side by side for 25 years. She developed friendships with long-term patients as well as countless people that she worked with throughout the years.

Deb had a lot of friends and people who cared about her, which was very evident during the last several weeks of her life. She was diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer on March 3, 2015 the ended her life on April 26, 2015. During those last few weeks she was able to say "see ya later" to everyone she felt she needed to. She took a spontaneous trip to Florida to be able to show Averie the ocean for the first time.

She lived life to the fullest with a smile on her face the whole time. She was truly an inspiration to many and will always be missed but never forgotten.

Please join us on June 6, 2015 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd. in Urbana, to celebrate her life. No tears, just happy smiles and funny stories. A cookout will be held afterward at Jessica's house.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to her granddaughter's education fund. Condolences may be offered at renner-wikoffchapel.com.
