Dean T. Smith, 75, of Champaign died 5:05 P.M. Saturday, November 3, 2007 in Newman.

Dean Smith was born May 17, 1932 in Champaign a son of Raymond and Wilma Tarman Smith. Dean served in the Navy from 1951 to 1954. He worked as an electrician for the U of I.

He is survived by four children Ronnie Dean Smith of Champaign, Lisa Ann Smith of Texas, Lucinda K. Smith of Arkansas, Michael A. Smith of Newman, a step daughter Connie Jean Gwynn of Champaign, a brother Jerry Smith of Champaign, a sister Judy Smith of California, twenty-four grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.
