Dean C. Nance, 91, of Chrisman died 6:53 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2008 at home.

Funeral services will be 1:00p.m., Wednesday, November 19 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory 1900 S. Philo Rd. Urbana with a visitation an hour prior. Rev. Dan Franklin, Rev. Phillip Owen, and Rev. Kevin Co will officiate. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Champaign. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at first Baptist Church in Chrisman.

Dean Nance was born October 1, 1917 in Herrick TWP, Shelby County, IL the son of Miles S. and Ada Dell Auld Nance. He married Jane Laverne Blackburn on January 23, 1942 in Bowling Green, MO. She preceded him in death on April 22, 2005.

Survivors include two sons Steven R. (Paulette) Nance of Chrisman, and Darrell C. (Diane) Nance of Bainbridge Island, WA; one grandchild, and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Craig W. "Chip" Nance; a grandson, Craig Steven Nance, and his sister, Carma J. Jones.

Dean worked for the U of I for 31 years. He was a life member of Painters Local Union # 363, the Masonic Lodge # 220 in Mahomet for 40 years, and the First Baptist Church in Chrisman.
