Dawson N. Webber 70 of Champaign died at 9:35 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Helia Healthcare Center, Champaign.

Memorial reception will be held from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the It'll Do, 215 Lake of the Woods Road, Mahomet. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana is in charge of arrangements.

Dawson was born on February 7, 1947 in Wilmington, Delaware, the son of Robert Houston and Carrie Hefner Webber. He married Shirley Roberts on May 1, 1967; she died November 8, 2010. Survivors include two children; Julia (Michael) Lard of Urbana and David (Maxine) Webber of Rantoul, two brothers; James (Marie) Webber and Ronald Webber both of Denver, Colorado, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Dawson was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He retired from Southland Distribution when he purchased a bar and named it Red's Bar and Grill in Mahomet and he also drove his own semi until he suffered a stroke in 2005.

Dawson was a NASCAR fan.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Helia Helia Healthcare Center, Champaign.
