David G. Pyer, 78, of Champaign died at 5:52 a.m., Friday, February 03, 2012 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Services are private. Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory 1900 S. Philo Rd Urbana is handling the arrangements.

David George Pyer was born December 29, 1933 in Champaign the son of William A. and Francis J. Watson Pyer. He married Marilyn A. Martin May 25, 1953 in Urbana. She survives.

Survivors include a son David F. (Cheryl) Pyer of Champaign; and two granddaughters, Valerie and Katy.

His sister, Wilma, preceded him in death.

Mr. Pyer was a Sgt in the United States Marine Corp who served from January 1953 to January 1956. He worked for the Illinois Power Company in the Forestry Department for forty years.
