David L. Fisher, 68, of Champaign passed away at 7:50 P.M. on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, Urbana. A Visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 1:00 -2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Rev. Mike Smith will officiate. Burial will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Champaign. Military rites will be provided by the Champaign VFW Post #5520.

Dave was born on October 30, 1947 in Champaign, to parents Lynn and Marjorie (Everett) Fisher. They preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his brother, Roger Fisher and his nephew, Michael Barr.

He is survived by his wife, Lori (Blue) Fisher of Champaign, his sister, Kay Buckner of Urbana, step daughter, Dawn Nesvig of Houston, TX, two nephews, two nieces, two granddaughters, sister in law, Viola Martin and six great nephews.

Dave graduated from Monticello High School, upon graduating he enlisted with the United States Army. After being honorably discharged in 1970, Dave started at Kraft Foods; he worked as a mechanic / line tech, retiring after working for the company for thirty-seven years. After retiring he also worked at Le Wash part time and plowed snow for his neighbors. He was a member of the Champaign VFW Post #5520, where he took great pleasure preforming military rites for his fellow veteran's. He was also a member of DAV and Champaign American Legion Post #24.

He loved Nascar, game shows, reading, collecting Budweiser memorabilia and fishing, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
