Daral Gene Carr, 74, of Mahomet passed away at 8:10 a.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at The Waterford at Bridle Brook in Mahomet with family by his side.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory in Urbana. A memorial reception will be held prior to the service from 4:00 -6:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Mechanicsburg Cemetery in Mechanicsburg, IL, all are invited to attend.

Daral was born on May 30, 1942 in Springfield, IL to parents Robert J. and Gladys (Troxell) Carr. He married Nancy J. Coe on July 21, 1961 in Mechanicsburg. She preceded him in death on September 14, 2005. Also preceding him in death was his mother Gladys.

He is survived by his father, Robert of Urbana. Also surviving are his children; Cathy Alberth (Peter Tankersley) of Crystal Lake, IL, Janet Decker (Ken) of Philo and Eric Carr (Cheryl) of White Heath, his siblings; Gwen Powell (Leroy) of Chandler, AZ, Phil Carr of Mahomet, Opal Woodard of Tolono and nine grandchildren.

Daral was happiest when he was on the go. He took every opportunity to travel and explore by any means possible; motorcycle, snowmobile, car, motor home, boat or plane. He was especially interested in U.S. History and loved watching old Westerns. His love of cars took him to stock car/NASCAR races, car shows and dealership showrooms.

Daral attended Tri-City High School in Buffalo, IL.and then became a painter by trade. He worked several years for himself and also for the University of Illinois. He retired after 40 years to spend more time traveling and enjoying life with Nancy.
