Daniel James Johnson, age 30, died in Seoul, South Korea on Sunday, May 16, 2010.

Born November 18, 1979 in Urbana, IL, to Ronald G. and Linda S. Johnson, he attended Unity High School and graduated from the University of Illinois in 2001. Dan served in the Peace Corps until 2002, where he worked at a health clinic in Malawi, Africa.

Dan grew up in Pesotum, Illinois and has lived in Africa, South Korea, Thailand, and Turkey where he taught English and Science to children in local schools.

Dan will be especially remembered for his passion to see the world, his eagerness to experience all cultures, and the contributions he made along the way.

He is survived by parents Ron and Sue Johnson, Pesotum; sister and brother-in-law Teri and Dennis Chapman, Loves Park; brothers and sisters-in-law Ron and Christina Johnson, Urbana; Eric and Angie Johnson, Paris; extended brothers and sisters-in-law Dave and Joy Chapman, Mahomet; Dan and Lindsay Chapman, Seattle; nieces and nephews Amber, Skyler, Elijah, Nathaniel, Nicholas, Elyse, and Emily; grandparents Mary Carroll, Brocton and Lucille Bell, Champaign.

Visitation will be held at 4:00 p.m. with a Celebration at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 11, 2010 at Renner-Wikoff, 1900 S Philo Rd., Urbana IL. Relatives and friends are welcome.
