Daniel Kipp (Col. Dan) Cedusky 72 of Champaign died Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Urbana, Rev. Fr. Joseph Hogan will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana with military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 71, Urbana. Visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2017 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, Urbana.

Col. Dan was born on January 2, 1945 in Sacramento, California, the son of William Paul and Erlene B. Cook Cedusky Sr. He married Mary Alice Auth Sieracki in 1967.

Survivors include two daughters; Christine (Steven) Torres of Chicago, Andrea Alice Cedusky of West Hollywood, California and two sisters; Judy (Roger) Corray of St. Joseph and Jaci (Bob) Smith of Homer.

Col. Dan was preceded in death by one sister; Frances Koster and one brother; William Paul Cedusky Jr.

He attended St. Mary's School, Champaign and was a graduate of Urbana High School.

Col. Dan graduated from the United States Army Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

He retired from the United States Army.

Col. Dan was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Urbana. The Athens Lions Club, AMVETS, National Guard Association US, Retired Officer's Association, the American Legion and the VFW. He was an active supporter of veteran issues and a lifelong Illini fan. He loved honky tonk dancing on a Saturday night, grilling and cooking for family and friends, and giving away bottles of his personalized hot sauce.
