Obituary

Clyde W. Forrest Jr. passed peacefully on Monday, June 18th at 9:45 p.m. at his home in Urbana surrounded by his loving family. Clyde was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on December 8th 1934. He served in both the Air National Guard and the US Army. He graduated from Will Rodgers High School and received a B.A. and a Juris Doctor from Tulsa University. Clyde was in private practice in Tulsa, Ok and also served on the Tulsa Metropolitan Planning Commission. He began his career with the University of Illinois in 1968 as a Professor of Urban and Regional Planning. Professor Forrest was recognized by the American Institute of Certified Planners as a Fellow. Teaching students was his passion and was recognized as an outstanding professor during his career. Professor Forrest was an active member of the American Bar Association, American Planning Association, and the Urbana Rotary Club.

Clyde has been married to his loving wife Jeanette for 56 years. Together they have two sons, Russell and Mitchell Forrest, and one daughter - Amy Sequeira. Clyde and Jeanette have 6 grandchildren. Clyde was a devoted husband and father active in Boy Scouts and shared his passion for the outdoors with his children and grandchildren. Also, Clyde was an active member and leader within Wesley United Methodist Church.

There will be a celebration of his life on July 13th at 2:00 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, please consider sending a donation to the Wesley Capital Campaign or Wesley Evening Food Pantry ( www. wesleyui.org/make-a-difference/give ).
