Cleone Pummill Place, 99, of Champaign died at 6:20 a.m. June 13, 2010 at Champaign Urbana Regional Rehab Center in Savoy.

Mrs. Place was born November 22, 1910 at Vera, Illinois, daughter of Arch Pummill and Dora Carter.

She married Everett E. Place of Urbana, on October 2, 1928. He died January 27, 1938.

Survivors include two sons, Lloyd Earl Place of Tampa, FL, Donald Vern Place of Escondido, CA; nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and ten great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons Gene Place and Melvin Place; two brothers Darrell Pummill and Charles Pummill; and a sister, Thelma Wright.

She was employed at Midstate Linen Supply and Collegiate Cap and Gown before moving to Tampa, FL where she was employed for twenty two years in the Hillsborough County School Food Service. She retired and moved back to Urbana, IL in 1980.

Funeral services will be at Renner-Wikoff Chapel 1900 S. Philo Rd. Urbana, on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Helen Harvey will officiate with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. A visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
