Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Collins, Sr., 82, of Urbana died at 6:11 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 9 at Grace United Methodist Church, Urbana. Rev. Michael Smith will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Friday May 8 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. Burial will be held at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Mayview at a later date.

Chuck was born August 15, 1932 in Springfield, the son of Clifford and Manzie (Phillips) Collins, Sr. He married Dorothy Blue on October 27, 1954 in Danville. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Urbana, daughters, Karen Stephen (Mike) of Urbana and Teresa Czebatul (Bernie) of North Carolina, a son, Chuck Collins, Jr. of Urbana, brothers, Tom Collins (Lois) of Springfield and Phil Collins (Phyllis) of Florida, a sister, Margie Jones (Dale) of Florida, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by brothers Bob and Cliff, Jr. and a sister Doris Scott.

Chuck is a graduate of Danville High School and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He came from Danville to become a dealer for Clark Oil which later became Collins Oil. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Urbana and the Urbana Masonic Lodge #157 where he is a 50 year member. He enjoyed camping, the outdoors, traveling and above all, his family.
