Chester A. Frederick, 86, of Urbana passed away at 12:33 P.M. on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Heartland Healthcare in Champaign.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, December 23, 2013 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, Urbana. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 A. M. - 1:00 P.M. Minister Dick McGuire will be officiating.

Chet was born on June 11, 1927 in Savoy to parents Henry and Lula (Ott) Frederick. They preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death are six brothers, one sister and his first wife, Shirley (Michael) Frederick, who passed away on December 9, 1993.

Chet is survived by his wife Annetta (Buttke) Frederick of Urbana, his son Michael A. Frederick of Urbana, step children Mark Michael of Minnesota, Julie (Mike) Owen of Wisconsin, Michelle Scobie of Wisconsin, Christina (Christopher) Michael of Montana, brother Gaylord (Beverly) Frederick of Urbana and seven step grandchildren.

Chet served in the military for the United States Army. He worked as a meat cutter and seller in his younger years. He then was a self- employed building contractor for over forty- five years. He was also a primitive antique collector.

He attended Silver Rill School in Sidney and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Urbana.

Chet enjoyed deer spotting, and traveled all over with his binoculars to watch the deer, he also enjoyed watching birds and squirrels. When Annetta worked in her flower garden, Chet was out there with her looking at the flowers, he loved nature.
