Charlotte R. Oakes 85 of Urbana died at 11:15 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2011 at Champaign-Urbana Regional Rehab Center, Savoy.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2011 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Urbana; the Rev. Fr. Joseph Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana.

Mrs. Oakes was born on May 20, 1926 in Urbana, the daughter of Nicholas and Clair Eunice Clark Roberts. She married Lawrence F. Oakes on November 28, 1946 in Urbana; he died on January 2, 2004.

Survivors include one son; Dale Oakes of Urbana, one daughter; Linda Blankenship of Rogersville, Alabama, one brother; Jim Roberts of Urbana, two sisters; Ina Wooldridge of Champaign and Gladys McCormick of Savoy, three grandchildren and one great grandson.

She was preceded in death by four brothers.

Mrs. Oakes was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Urbana.
