Charles Wesley Bright, 68, of Urbana died 1:15 AM Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at home.

Services will be private. Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory 1900 S. Philo Rd. Urbana is handling arrangements.

Charles Wesley Bright was born June 19, 1938 in South Bend, IN a son of Rev. Joseph Loren and Dorotha Marie Coe Bright. He married Evelyn Joyce Mabbitt October 21, 1962 in Goodland, IN. She survives.

He is survived by four children Mark Bright of Carson City, NV; Kevin Bright of Urbana, Karen Bright of Urbana, Donovan Bright of California, two brothers Richard Porter of Florida, Robert Bright of Hawaii Kai, Hawaii, two sisters Nila Moore of Jacksonville, FL; Joyce Stone of Independence, MO; six grandchildren Shaun Bright, Kayla Bright, Nikki Bright, Katie Bright all of Urbana, Tyler Bright and Kayla Couch of Carson City, NV.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Donovan Porter.

Charles Bright was in the Navy from 1954 to 1958. He worked as a laborer for the Local 703 for fifteen years. He was a lifetime member of the Nazarene Church and of VFW Post 5520. Charles was former President of the Urbana Washington School PTA, Urbana PTA Executive Council, and Former President of the Urbana High School Wrestling Club for eight years. He also helped organize the Urbana Park District, Precinct Committee Member Ward 3 for ten years, and coached little league for twelve years, coached Urbana Jr. High Basketball for three years and was a Scoutmaster for the Cub & Boy Scouts.
