Charles Otis (Sparky) Valentine 80 of Urbana died at 6:35 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana; the Rev. Mike Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Urbana. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Valentine was born on November 11, 1930 in Urbana, the son of Mervin and Catherine Clark Valentine. He married Peggy Ann Fleming on August 20, 1950, she survives.

Survivors include five sons; Chuck Valentine of Fort White, Florida, Richard Valentine, Gary Valentine, and Timothy Valentine all of Urbana Steven Valentine of Champaign, two daughters; Cindy (Frank) Gaines of Fithian and Julie Valentine of Champaign, one brother; Bill Valentine of Urbana one sister; Barbara Carrington of Urbana, fourteen grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son; Phillip, two brothers and one sister.

Mr. Valentine was the owner operator of Valentine Sanitary and retired as an operator for the City of Dade, Florida.
