Charles E. Hefley, 83 of Urbana, died at 4:52 pm Sunday March 19, 2017 at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana. Graveside services will be 10:30 am Friday, March 24 at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign. Pastor Roger VanRaden will officiate.

Mr. Hefley was born February 9, 1934 in Urbana, the son of Ralph R. and Maudie (Terry) Hefley. He married Louise B. Voss Shipman on June 15, 1957 in Champaign and she preceded him in death on April 6, 2006. He is also preceded in death by his parents and only brother, Ralph Hefley, Jr.

Survivors include nieces and nephews, Richard Hefley, Paul Hefley, Sandra T H Travis, John Hefley, Joy H. Alexander, special niece, Deana Hefley, his cat, Sampson, friend Ron Mills, caregiver, Cathy Oliver and special friend, Pat Levitt.

He attended Champaign Schools and was a fork lift operator for Solo Cup Company. He was a member of Salty Sams Camping Group and the Eagles Lodge.
