Charles A. Carrington, 91, of Urbana, passed away at 2:55 a.m., Thursday March 3, 2011 at Heartland Health Care Center in Paxton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. The Rev. J. Michael Smith will officiate. A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana.

Mr. Carrington was born in Paris, Illinois on October 9, 1919 to parents Claude and Harriet Carrington. He married Betty Bradburn on January 13, 1945 in Flint Michigan. She preceded him in death on January 21, 2010. He was also preceded in death by his parents and daughter; Cheryl Carrington.

Charles' survivors include his son; Charles Carrington, Jr. (Connie), of Rantoul, brother; Walter Hart (Nina), of West Lafayette, Indiana, grandchildren; Jarid Taylor, Jodi Taylor, Alexis Berry, Allie Whitlow, Victoria Carrington, Austin Carrington, and seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Carrington worked as a photographer for University of Illinois Photography Services for more than 42 years. He was proud of his service to his country as a Corporal in the United States Army Air Force during WWII. He was also a member of the Boots and Bows Square dance club and the Champaign Sportsman's Club. Charles also enjoyed vacationing with his wife in Texas and Wisconsin.
