Anne Caroline "Carol" Collins, 85 of Urbana died at 6:39 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

A reception from 12:30pm to 1:30pm on February 5, 2011 will be held at Renner-Wikoff Chapel 1900 S. Philo Rd. Memorial services will follow at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, MeadowBrook Congregation, 1407 Scovill, Urbana at 2:00pm. Mr. Ronald Barcus will officiate.

Mrs. Collins was born March 21, 1925 in Charleston, IL the daughter of Norris and Hazel (VanPelt) Williams. She married Raymond W. Collins, Jr. on July 4, 1954 and he preceded her in death on May 22, 2008. She is survived by three sons, Kevin Collins (Jane) of Ogden, William Fabian (Vickie) of Champaign, Andrew Collins of Urbana, two daughters, Kristine Schwartzman (Brad) of Edinboro, PA and Megan Collins of Erie, PA and 11 grandchildren.

Mrs. Collins graduated from Charleston High School and worked at Hooper Homes in Arizona as a real-estate clerk. She later was a graphic artist and silk screener at Bailey and Heinz in Urbana. Following that she worked at the University of Illinois Animal Science Lab offices as a word and data processing technician where she had the pleasure of working with the great staff and faculty which some became good friends, including Temple Grandin during her stay here.

After retirement she operated her own typing and word processing business and enjoyed making greeting cards she also was active in service for the local congregation of Jehovah's Witness for decades with a strong will and faith.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Champaign County Humane Society or the Meadowbrook Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
