Carlos J. Miller, 84 of Champaign died at 11:30 P.M. Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana, IL.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 11, 2006 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, Urbana, IL the Rev. Rick Bloom will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Miller was born on September 1, 1922 in Mudlick, Kentucky, the son of Benjamin Franklin and Leonie Fox Miller. He married Fern Miller on March 28, 1942 in Urbana, IL, she died on May 4, 1983. He then married Pauline Innis on September 1, 1989 in Champaign, IL, she survives.
Also surviving are two sons; Carlos Wayne Miller of Astoria, IL and Michael Miller of Independence, Missouri, one daughter; Barbara Dehm of Normal, IL, three step-sons; Blaine Ward, Gary Ward and Richard Ward all of Buncombe, IL, two brothers; Wert Miller of St. Louis, Missouri and Clyde Miller of Nashville, Tennessee, one sister; Alma Merrifield of Champaign, IL, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sons, two sisters and 1 brother.
Mr. Miller worked at the University of Illinois physical plant and owned Miller Electric in Champaign.
He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Champaign, IL and enjoyed fishing and gardening. A U.S. Army veteran of WW II.
