Camilla Morton, 92, of Urbana, died at 7:04a.m. Friday, April 11, 2014 at home.

Funeral services will be held at Holy Cross Church in Champaign on Wednesday, April 16 at 10:00a.m. with Father Joseph Santa-Bibiana SDB officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Urbana. There will be no public visitation. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory in Urbana is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Morton was born on June 3, 1921 in Rockford, the daughter of Kazmier and Sabina Kazmierski. She married Frank Morton on May 20, 1950 in Rockford; he died on June 21, 1994.

Survivors include two daughters: Carolyn Gill of Springboro, Ohio and Cynthia Morton-Petry of Urbana; five grandchildren: Jessica Helfrich of Ogden, Paul Petry of Denver, Colorado, Emma Petry of Urbana, David Gill of Kansas City, Kansas, and Adam Gill of Orlando, Florida; and three great grandchildren: Jayde Parks, Riley Parks, and Addison Helfrich.

She was preceded in death by two sisters; Wanda Lachowicz and Harriet Grzelak.

Mrs. Morton graduated from Rockford High School in the top ten of her class.

She worked for Barber-Colman for 13 years and the Rockford Board of Education for 10 years before retiring in 1983.

Mrs. Morton was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Champaign.

She was an avid reader, liked to travel and see the different parts of the states. She loved her great family and all their vacations together.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association to find a cure for her granddaughter Jayde.
