Buddy D. Shuler 72, of Urbana died at 2:40 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Private services will be held at Renner-Wikoff Chapel.

Mr. Shuler was born on May 5, 1937 in Salem, the son of Lee and Winnie Pollard Shuler. He married Carolyn McKeever on April 5, 1957 in Decatur. She survives.

Also surviving are four children; Danita (Eldon) Riggs of Noblesville, Indiana, Vicky (Tim) Broos of Dixon, Dwain (Monica) Shuler and Julianne Shuler both of Champaign. Three sisters; Thelma Phillips, Lela Helpingstine and Irene Bryant, Five grandchildren; Ryan Riggs, Daniel Riggs, Emily Shuler, Sara Shuler and Natalie Shuler and one great grandson; Tristan Shuler-Sibley.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Mr. Shuler retired as an engineer with Clark Dietz Engineers in Champaign.

He enjoyed bowling, duplicate bridge and traveling.
