Dorsey Wayne "Bud" Fitzgerald, 75 of Urbana, died at 4:16 a.m. Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, with visitation from 10:30 to service time. Rev. Chris Noffke will officiate. Burial will be at Bailey Cemetery, Tolono with Military Rites accorded by Champaign VFW Post 5520.

Mr. Fitzgerald was born July 15, 1936 in Mahomet, the son of Alonzo and Mabel (Birch) Fitzgerald. He married Lenora J. Anderson in 1957 and she survives. He is also survived by daughters; Cindy S. Fitzpatrick of Champaign and Terry O'Neill (Skip) of Champaign, son; Bob Fitzgerald (Debra) of Philo, sisters; Wilma Barnhart (Ted) of Champaign and Ruth Allen (Delbert) of Meredosia, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a son; Philip E. and daughter; Cherllynn L.

Mr. Fitzgerald graduated from Unity High School, Tolono in 1954. He served in the Navy from 1954 to 1962 on the USS Purdy. He was an "over-the-road" truck driver for many years. He was a member of Champaign VFW Post 5520 and Champaign American Legion Post 64. He enjoyed NASCAR, motorcycles, western movies, family and friends. He was very fond of his dog and companion, Angel.
